Teen (aka “Young Adult”) area getting a makeover

teen area with couch chair rug

Pretty nice lounge area, huh?

That’s right! The teen area is getting a makeover. The first step was paint – the walls are now blue (the rest of the Library walls are white). The next step is furniture. New additions include a couch, two lounge chairs (one is really comfy), and a rug to tie it all together. But that’s not all!

In the works are new shelving (not terribly exciting, I know) and a Diner Booth (kinda cool, don’t you think?). We are getting quotes on the work for these, and hope to have them installed soon.

Thanks go to Wilsonville Fred Meyer for providing not only design help, but also everything else. This simply would not be happening without them.

“Pure” by Julianna Baggott

From a 2012 Adult Summer Reading Program book review:

"Pure" by Julianna Baggott

“Pure” by Julianna Baggott

Title/Author: “Pure” by Julianna Baggott

Genre: Post-apocalyptic dystopian science fiction (young adult)

Rating: 5 out of 5

WV Reader Review: Disturbing. Frightening. Dazzling. These are all words that come to mind when I think about Pure. The stunning imagery and fascinating damaged characters kept me enthralled through every page. Read. This. Book.

"Out of My Mind" by Sharon Draper

Title/Author: “Out of My Mind” by Sharon Draper

Genre: Young Adult general fiction

Rating: 5+ out of 5

WV Reader Review: Fabulous look inside the mind of a handicapped child! I especially love how real, human, and teen-angst filled Melody is. Draper does not purport to turn her into a perfectly behaved saint, but keeps her real. I skipped lunch because I could not put this book down!!
