The good news is that Storytime returns next week, starting Tuesday, April 16. Storytime is currently on break as our Youth Services staff is getting everything ready for the Summer Reading Program (starts June 10!).
The new news is that our Monday evening Spanish Storytime will change formats – kids will make a different puppet each week, then use their puppet to help tell a story in Spanish. This is a bilingual program for Spanish and English speakers, as well as learners of either language.

Grrr! It’s Monster Week at Storytime.
If you aren’t, why not?
Storytime is live local theater – for free! Enjoy thirty minutes of fun with stories, songs, and the comedic antics of our fabulous Youth Services staff. Experience amazing picture books brought to life, then check out those books to take home!
Can’t find the time? There are four (4!) Storytime sessions each week (Tuesday night, Wednesday morning and afternoon, Thursday afternoon). None of those a fit for you? Then try our Spanish Storytime (it’s bilingual, don’t worry) on Monday nights.
Want to know more? Ask our Youth Services Librarian Extraordinaire (yes, that is his full title) Steven Engelfried at 503-570-1592 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join us on Monday nights at 6:00 p.m. starting September 17th for this special bilingual Storytime with special guest Claudia Renata. Children will learn songs, rounds, traditional games and take home a toy made by themselves. For all ages.

Did you miss our special Storytimes featuring that man in the red suit, Santa Claus? Or maybe you came, but want to relive some of the fun?
Then take a look at our pictures from Storytime during the week of December 6-8. We sang the Reindeer Pokey (to the tune of the “Hokey Pokey”) and shook our antlers, we experienced “The Nutcracker” with puppets and a Russian storyteller (in just five minutes!), and then we sang “Must Be Santa” – and Santa arrived!

Curious to see what Spanish Storytime is all about? Univision Portland visited the library and recorded this video of Spanish Storytime and broadcast it on the Univision channel. Univision’s interest was due to the local parents who nominated our Spanish Storytime performed by Claudia Osorio for “Best Hispanic Example in Portland.”
