Last day for Food for Fines

Food for Fines

Bring in food, reduce your fines!

Here’s your last chance to donate a can (or box) of unexpired food and receive 50 cents off your overdue fees. This offer is good through today (February 28, 2013).

So come on down! And while you’re at the library, you can drop off your Wilsonville Special Election ballot, check out some books and movies, and pick up an Adult Winter Reading Program Tic-Tac-Toe card (the deadline for entering is coming up soon).

February is Food for Fines Month

Food for Fines

Bring in food, reduce your fines!

In case you didn’t know, February is traditionally Food for Fines Month at the library.

What does this mean? You can bring in a can or box of (unexpired) food and receive 50 cents off your overdue fines. (No ramen, please!)

All food will be donated to Wilsonville Community Sharing for the assistance of needy area families. Please check expiration dates carefully! The food bank cannot accept or use expired food.

And as an extra special tip for our blog readers, keep an eye out for the Library’s birthday (February 14) when we will waive up to $25 of overdue fines – just for you coming in on our birthday. (And did I mention there will be free birthday cake, too?)

For more information, contact the Reference Desk at 503-682-2744 or reference@wilsonvillelibrary.org.

February is Food for Fines Month

Food for FinesLooking for a way to pay your overdue fines and help out your community?

For the month of February, bring in a can or box of food and receive a 50 cent credit towards your overdue fines (subject to library staff approval). All food donations will go to Wilsonville Community Sharing to help local families in need.

What you need to know:

  • For every can or box of food (not-expired) you bring to the library, 50 cents will be waived from your library account*.
  • The waived fees are only for overdue fines. “Food for Fines” does not apply to lost or damaged item charges.
  • You must bring the items to the Circulation Desk  so we may remove the fines from your account.  Do not drop food items  in the book drops.

Please check the expiration dates carefully. The food bank cannot accept food that has expired.
